The exhibition was outstanding by its scope and the level of the works presented. It was devoted to acquaint the Western audience with all the basic development stages of the Russian fine art from icons to avant-garde of the beginning of the century as well as the masterpieces of the 20th century. The exposition contained the works by A.Venezianov, G.Semiradski, P.Fedotov, I.Aivazovski, I.Kramskoi, I.Levitan, M.Vrubel', N.Goncharova, M.Larionov, A.Lentulov. Together with the painting works a great collection of decorative and applied art as well as folk art was presented. |
