Alexander of Macedonia, or Alexander the Great (356-323 BC), was the most prominent commander and statesman of the Ancient world, the king of Macedonia (336-323 BC), the son of Macedonian tsar Philip. The deeds of Peter the Great were often compared to the feats of Alexander the Great.
